Schengen Common Visa rule
If you intend to visit only one Schengen country and if it is France, you must apply for a visa at France Embassy, Abuja
If you intend to visit several Schengen countries and your duration of stay remains longest in one particular country, you are requested to apply for visa at Embassy or Consulate of that particular Schengen country where you will stay for longer period.
If you intend to visit several Schengen countries and duration of stay in those countries are same, you are requested to apply for a visa at the France Embassy to the first country you enter.

Note: Under all visa categories, appointments for visa application submission at France Embassy are scheduled at VFS centre, Abuja.

Required documents for all visa categories
To ensure your application is processed without any delay please include the following:

Complete & Signed visa application Form
Clear copy of your current passport data pages
Supporting documentation as per the relevant checklist
Receipt of VFS service charges as applicable (To be collected at the bank implant in the visa application centre)

Applicants are requested to read the requisite documents carefully that needs to be submitted together with your visa application. Please make sure that you have all the documents indicated in the list, since decision could be delayed and deferred if one or several documents are missing.

Visa Appointment Time
Applicants or Representatives who are visiting VFS to scheduled prior appointment to visit France Embassy need to come to VFS from 8am. till 12pm. The collection timing is 12.00 noon.- 4.00 PM (Monday-Friday except holidays). Applicants’ need to bring their receipt that was issued to them at the time of appointment.

For collecting a passport on behalf, a prescribed authority letter (As Given) to be produced at VFS France Visa Appointment Centre. The print can be taken of this letter after being downloaded and can fill in.
Please be informed,VFS can refuse to handover the passport to a representative if the authority letter is not produced as per the prescribed format.

Appointment Process for Visa Application

Step 1
Applicant or representative of the applicant is required to visit VFS Abuja appointment centre with original passport to get an appointment for submission of their biometrics at The France Embassy.

Step 2
Applicant or representative of the applicant will pay the VFS fee first at the bank implant branch present at the VFS application centre. Bank will make entries of few basic necessary datas and will generate three receipts in triplicate. Bank will handover applicant’s copy and VFS copy to applicant.

Step 3
Applicant/representative of the applicant will come to VFS counter to get an appointment. VFS will provide an appointment to the applicant/representative. The applicant must visit The France Embassy for submission of biometrics and to submit their application on the date of appointment with all documents as specified on the check list.

Step 4
Applicant or Representative can come and collect passport from VFS Abuja center after visa application is being processed at Embassy from 12.00 pm to 04.00pm.Representative, visiting VFS center to collect must carry prescribed authority letter on behalf of the applicant.
